Fern E. Long was born in Vigo County, IN on May 19, 1921 and passed away in Cape Coral, FL on March 9, 2012. She was the daughter of the late Don and Ethel (Myers) Caton.
She is survived by her daughter Nita (Carson) Spitler of Cape Coral, Fl; grandchildren Susan (Paul) Duong-Lam of Oakland, CA; Long (Karen) Duong; great grandchildren Christopher, Charisse Lam, Tamara Spitler; 3 great great grandchildren; 1 great great great grandson; brother Charles Caton of Terre Haute, IN; niece Lorraine Halsal; nephew Larry (Anne) Schaffer both of Daytona, Fl; Fern is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Norman and her granddaughter Rosetta Spitler.
The family will receive friends from 2 pm - 4 pm at the Fuller Metz Funeral Home on Tuesday March 13, 2012. A celebration of Fern's life will begin at 4 pm.
